Gustav Mahler Komponierhäuschen

The greatest late-Romantic/early-Modernist composer needed the peace of nature to inspire his genius. He found the most ideal place in Klagenfurt - at Maiernigg on Lake Wörthersee, where he had his “Komponierhäuschen” built in 1900. This is where Mahler composed some of his most important works. Until 1907, Mahler completed his fourth symphony at his “Komponierhäuschen” and fully composed his fifth, sixth and seventh. Visitors get a wonderful insight into the life and work of this great composer, conductor, opera director, and reformer of musical theatre.
